Mississippi College Moodle

If a student is accepted to MC between the hours of 6:00am and 10:00pm, they will have an MC email account automatically created for them within an hour after they are accepted in Banner. Students can then go to the website to look up their account information by accessing the following page on Computer Services webpages:

If you depend on MC campus internet, please do diligent planning to complete your final coursework you may have online to avoid attempting to complete assignments during the hours listed below.

This is a message all faculty, staff and students of all MC campuses from Computer Services about upcoming scheduled maintenance that will effect internet access and therefore MCMoodle use:

Event #1

When: Friday, April 6^th at 4:30pm (CST)

Details: Computer Services will be performing network maintenance this Friday starting at 4:30pm. The planned outage time is from 4:30pm until 4:45pm. During this time, you will not be able to access the internet and access to Mississippi College network resources such as MCMail, MCMoodle and Banner Web will be extremely limited.

Event #2

When: Thursday, April 12^th between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. (CST)

Details: Mississippi College’s Internet Service Provider, Level 3 Communications, will implement scheduled maintenance to repair damaged backbone cable due to a previous fiber repair. In the event of any unforeseen occurrence, Level 3 will continue this work on April 13th starting between 12:00am and 6:00am to ensure all task are completed and customer services are restored. Once the maintenance begins, access to the internet and to Mississippi College network resources such as MCMail, MCMoodle and Banner Web will be extremely limited for up to 1 hour.

Event #3

When: Wednesday, April 25^th between 2:00 a.m. and 5 a.m. (CST)

Details: Mississippi College's Internet Service Provider, Level 3 Communications, will implement scheduled maintenance to troubleshoot, fix known bug issues and clear alarms to prevent any possible service interruptions. Once the maintenance begins, access to the internet and to Mississippi College resources such as MCMail, MCMoodle and Banner Web will be extremely limited for up to 20 minutes.

Event #4

When: Saturday, April 28^th between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. (CST)

Details: Mississippi College's Internet Service Provider, Level 3 Communications, will implement scheduled maintenance to fix known bug issues in their router equipment to prevent future service interruptions to customer services. Once the maintenance begins, access to the internet and to Mississippi College resources such as MCMail, MCMoodle and Banner Web will be extremely limited for up to 1 hour.

We sincerely apologize for these disruptions, but we will work diligently with our ISP to bring all services back online as soon as possible. If you have any questions about these events, feel free to email support@mc.edu or call the helpdesk at extension 3939.

Please note that on Monday at 3pm all Fall 2011 courses will be archived. You as the instructor will still be able to retrieve a course from that semester. However, you will have to scroll down and use the search box to pull up that course. This helps maintain a clean page and keep us with the current semester as we move into Summer/Fall.
